They have been here since early October.

Given a choice, I would prefer the Avant to the Sedan, only for balance.
AFAIK, there are still no plans to bring the RS4 Avant over here and IIRC you can't even get an S4 Avant over here

Last time I checked, no.
Perhaps it has changed.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned the Panemera 4S....

The back seats are very comfortable even for adults and 400HP doesn't hurt either

You should really reconsider joining me in the Rally school in December......

My Cayenne S comes in handy for that...........

I specifically mentioned the street - it can be done, just not as conservatively as in certain other cars.

I have had two M3s (E36 and E46) and now have a 2003 M5 (E39. The M series are incredible cars. The new 4 door M3 is awesome

Phenominal Car. You do owe it a test. Just sit in drivers seat fo the BMW without even starting the car and you will feel more connected (not to mention comfortable and supported). There are amazing aspects about each car, but you would be doing yourself an injustice to buy an RS4 without driving an M3. And its you fall in love with the sound of the RS4, there are pleanty of aftermarket upgrades to the M3 which will make it snarl far more ferociously than the RS.

I have an 09 M3 Sedan with the DCT. It is really an awesome car. I drove a friends RS4 and I do like that too, but I feel much more connected in the M3. Better balance and feels lighter. I miss my Cayman S though. But the M3 sedan is much more practical for a daily driver. I am taking it to the track tomorrow. I can't wait to see if I can better my Cayman S laptimes at VIR.
Definitely give the M3 a chance - you wont regret it.

Paolo,

My wife had 2 Audi A4 sedans, 2 A4 Avants, and now had a BMW 328Xi Wagon. The Audis only lasted about 75K miles and fell apart. The Bimmer is a MUCH better car, just more connected and a better more direct ride. The wagon is a big plus!

I have a 2005 M3 Competition Package. Its AWESOME! But is a coupe. Doesnt really haul the family.

If I were you, I would look long and hard at BMW 3 series (M3 or 335i). You just cant lose with a Bimmer. Tried, true, fast, fun, reliable......what more could you ask for?

I just had a A3 for loaner, and I really did not like the interrior of the car at all. Nothing seemed intuitive to me, I had to at least push two buttons to change radio channel, the cruise control was as stupid as could be, the seats were horrible and I had leg and back aches after 1 hour drives... and it goes on and on frankly, I can complain all night.

My wife has a '05 645 and sometimes I drive it to work and it is a much more comfortable car with straight forward controls, even with the iDrive thingy. But, I'd never give up my Cayman S for either of them, and especially for an Audi.

In all fairness, I would not put A3 and an RS4 in the same league.......
