Glad we can ditch the carpets. Now the fun part about removing the glue. I heard that is a real fun job...
What's the best solvent to use?

Best I found is 3M adhesive remover off the shelf. I have heard Xylene is good but make sure you have lots of ventalation and use a mask

I bet most of the DE winning cars would not qualify for their original stock class, why should the race cars?

I used acetone and it works pretty good. just be careful it doesnt' take all of the actual PAINT off too

Xylene will soften the paint too, so you need to be careful.

Mark,
Don't even THINK about trying any of these without a good organic blocker respirator. The fumes are nasty, and the boys won't like it if Dad starts drooling.

Dependnig on what passes and gets cut will depend on whether I race in PCA this year. After my threatening to light a piece of carpet on fire at the Glen, they stopped giving me a hard time. Try it sometime for fun, bring a fire extinguisher. hehe ;-)

Same here.......

Can't wait to hear the result on the weight reduction for prepared cars......

What is the point of removing carpets if they don't allow a drop in weight........

take the carpet out for safety and add weight in balast. Even if rule does not pass you will be better off!

Well, a lot of the modern P-cars can't get anywhere close to the stock legal weight (due to some extent to the extra weight of Rollcage and several additional coolers )
