Lightning definitely cords tires, but in my case, it's consistently the left edges of the tires (driver's outside and passenger inside), especially the rears, which I have presumed is caused by the lightbulb. I have trouble imagining this is a correctable alignment issue since it this is the only track with this curious wear, other than having a nascar style setup just for nj events, with negative camber on one side and positive on the other. 17" MPSC's on the car.

I have a contact name at Hoosier and have been told they would appreciate the feedback. I will let you know what they say. I never had any issues with the same alignment specs when I ran 16" R-6's. I would HC them out, but currently I can only get one day and that is unacceptable.

Here's another data point about NJMP. I spent 5 days there at Thunderbolt at the club race and the DE before. I corded 3 of my Hoosiers there. I haven't corded any tires in probably 4 or 5 years. I've always run out of heat cycles long before that. I also ran my Hankooks for a bunch of HC's that week and they still look fine.

I have been running R6s for 2 seasons and I have never worn them out before cording them. I corded 8 tires at the NJM club race this year and continue to cord them at every track I drive (Monticello, WGI, LRP, VIR). Near cup car settings for camber and such.

Update on this thread: I spoke with Hoosier today. They are just as perplexed as we are. They told me there has been no mold change to the R6. My hot temps and camber settings are in spec as I new was the case. He asked me to get back to him post VIR with the results. In my prior years at VIR I have found it to be very friendly on tires, so this will be a good test.
I also went over the car with my mechanic to address any failing suspension parts and we could not find anything. It may just be the cheese grater surface at T-bolt and the light bulb at lightening are to aggressive on tires. Someone else mentioned montecello as a place where they had issues. From the video I have seen, I could see potential tire issues there as well. Keep you posted.

FWIW: I just ran 3 days on a set of Hoosier R6s (starting with about 95% life) and did not experience any cording. 1 day at Eagles Canyon (4 HC @ 20 min sessions) and 2 full days at the Pat Long event - with pretty hard driving by both Pat Long and Seth Thomas, plus about 10-15 more sessions (@ 20-30 minutes long). I would guess they saw around 400 miles of track time in the 3 days.
I experienced very even wear across the fronts and rears. Relevant info: I do not has the Kussumaul alignment on my GT3, instead I have -3.0 F camber on 245s, -2.0 R camber on 315s. Very little toe (EDIT: Front Toe 2', cross to 4'; rear 11', cross 23'). I was able to simply swap rear tires left to right on the second day since wear was so even and did not have to flip tires on the rim. Front tires didn't get swapped or flipped, but I probably should have swapped sides.

This will all depend on several factors. set up, track , driving style but more importantly, the CAR and its spring set up. A softer car will , could have more body roll that tends to wear the tire on the outside more even with moderate camber settngs. Too stiff of springs, no roll, will chew up the inside edges. Obviously, too much toe in will chew up outside edges REAL quick. Long sweepers on the drooping front wheel can chew up the inside edge, especially with a bump steer issues.
Geometry is totally different from a 944/928 vs a 911. The 928s , for example, can get away with less than 2 degrees camber and not wear the outside edges while running similar lap times and weight.
