That's my conclusion as well.

Yeah, that's clearly not sold, they're just contracted to provide training and other services. FYI, FY09 ends in 2 weeks. FY10 starts Oct 1st.

Looks like little changed between FY08 and FY09. Not to say it won't change in FY10, but not enough info right now. It also looks like an ID/IQ, where they negotiate a giant contract, and then make small purchase orders off it.

THIS IS JUST A RUMOR AT THIS POINT.

This story has been around in many forms for quite a while, driven by the dramatic increase in State Department contracts let to Summit Point. As Chris said in his opening post, he 'heard it from a guy'.

PCA Potomac is trying to fact check the status of the track's ownership. All we know right now is that our guys who deal with the track on a regular basis have not heard word of a sale, pending or otherwise.

This is not to say it's not true, just that we have not yet been able to confirm the facts.

Absolutely. We have a contract locked in. Besides, we've got a Dixie Bones BBQ dinner booked, and NOTHING will keep us from that!

Just did a quick check of the land records of Jefferson County and it looks like Scott and/or his corporations still own the land that contains the tracks.

OMG This is biggest rumor with no basis. Today it is $6M, yesterday you posted on another forum it was 8.2M

The US Gov't spends several $M with Summit Point (BSR, Inc) each year for training costs and the lease of the new training facilities along the front straight.

No one in their right mind is going to sell over 250 Acres with 3 tracks, 3 skid pads, a go kart facility, shooting ranges, 30K sqr feet of indoor training facilities, off road courses and a fleet of vehicles for $6M... 1.5 Hours from Wash DC?

I hope it turns out to be nothing. I will be very happy if it is just contracts. But the word "sold" was used.

What did the state department get for $6.2 million. Sounds like a tax payer funded "field day" shooting 9mm Glocks out the side windows of fast moving cars. Next week Sporting Clays from Hummers.

Ha! Seems like it sometimes.

Actually they are very serious about anti terrorism training. Teaching convoys how to shuttle dignitaries through an ambush, how to stop fleeing suspects, etc. It ain't no joke and the guys that go out there from the Feds to Triple Canopy and Blackwater look, well, I'm just glad they are on our side.
