Sounded like a lot more than $250 of loss.
What happened to knock it down that low?

Not sure about you guys, but $250 would cover about 10% of my tools.

Glad to hear USAA is at least taking care of a portion of your loss, but you might consider covering your race property under a dedicated policy.

After announcing our HPDE Insurance Program a number of Rennlisters asked me if we would create a STP program for racers. We launched the Racer's Insurance Advantage (http://racersinsuranceadvantage.com) website a few weeks ago. There are other options out there to cover competition vehicles, but we're the only one I'm aware of that will cover your competition vehicle, trailer, tools and equipment, and parts and spares.

Anyways, sorry to hear about your loss but fortunately your car wasn't stolen.

$250 ****! I've done a complete inventory and tools are $3807, wheels and tires $4195 and the only coverage they are initially offering is f(&*%^*@ $250!

Why in the hell do I have insurance?!

Do not use the Lowes prices. Get the grainger catalog. Been down this road before.

That's what I figured. We're about the same...I've got about $10k in tools, equipment, parts, and wheels/tires in my trailer at any given time.

Most standard/homeowner's insurers will want you to either provide receipts or re-purchase all the stolen items and then they'll reimburse you minus the deductible. It sounds like they are paying your claim out of some small sublimit that your policy has for "personal property off premises."

Good luck with the battle! Even if it's not our program, you should consider getting some sort of dedicated policy to cover your racecar, trailer, and race equipment/tools/spares.

Going through it for a quote right now.

I've got the atty gearing up for some hate mail to see if we can get anywhere on that road. The bitch is finding a copy of my damn policy

My USAA policy also gives me a courtesy reach-around.

Gottagofast, I looked at your racers advantage and filled out the quote. I would gladly pay that premium for the coverage that you advertise, but I haven't heard of the agency or Lockton Affinity and the FAQ aren't too detailed. Got any feel good on the company?

Tucker:

Man that sucks I know EXACTLY how you feel. After replacing everything including my trailer I took images of everything and have them in a file.

For others to consider since the rear drop gate seems to be more vulnerable than the side door. I simply mounted d-rings to door and then used ratchet straps to secure, Simple but it works I cant pry door open when exterior latches released.

Methinks theft has occurred before the break in. Insurance companies are just about the biggest thieves out there.
Bet the ****** who stole your stuff weren't racers. So I wouldn't expect to see it turn up at the track anytime soon, unless someone unwittingly buys it from them. Thing is, some random guy comes around offering cheap parts, you have to know it's hot.
Hat full of ******** the lot of them!!!
