Fuel surge issue on race 964

Hi,
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop fuel surge on a 964 ?
I have a standard tank in my race 964 and if the fuel goes below 1/4 on the gauge I get fuel starvation on fast right hand bends. It's annoying as the car is over weight so I want to run as little fuel as possible.
I have to run a standard tank due to the championship regulations so i guess I need to get some baffels into it somehow ?
Another guy in the championship has the same problem with his 964 too.

This occurs in 993s as well due to the fuel tank design. There is a well in the rear passenger side of the tank where the fuel is drawn from by the external pump. During right hand corners, the fuel is pushed up and out of the well causing the pump to suck air. A Fuel Safe replacement 17gallon tank does the same thing. You need to install internal pumps and a surge tank to resolve the issue, however, I don't know how you'd gain access in the factory tank.

Geoffrey, couldn't he install an external pump off of the existing lines and plumb it to a surge tank? Then he could use the factory pump to draw from that. Of course, it may weigh as much as the 4 gallons of fuel that he is trying to save.

I also went with the internal surge tank as it's a lot less hassle to install safely and it does not add the weight that an external tank would. (I have a cell, not the stock tank.)

Tom, what is the internal tank you are referring to ?
I don't think I want any complicated sort of set up i.e additional pumps, external tanks etc, I'd like to go with some kind of internal baffle or swirl pot if possible.

I have a 2ish gallon 'can' inside my fuel cell that functions as the surge tank. Low pressure pumps fill it and the main fuel pick-up is in it. There is no sloshing and I can run the thing dry if required. When my fuel gauge says empty, that means I have the 2 gallons in the surge tank to work off of - so roughly 2-3 laps of fuel left.
