Mark,
Educate me, please.

"By the way, we have a 911 3.2 that is stock. Do you know that it ran 210rwhp on the dyno, with no engine mods at all, even stock exhaust system, with some louder mufflers?

So, are you saying 210 rwhp is possible with a stock exhaust, but 220-230 with tuned exhaust and w/o any mufflers is not possible?

The context of the reply was to discount the "poor ole" stock 911 qualifier.
If it is a stock engine on a 3.0, its going to be under 180hp at the wheels. We got 210rwhp, but really 200 without the eRAM. Also, it was a 3.2. So yes, 210rwhp is certainly possible with the 3.2 911s. we dyno tested 3 of them. What this means is that their flyweel rating is a little conservative. 210rwhp is near 250flywheel, and 230rwhp as quoted is more like 270flywheel hp. I did a 3.0 test as well, and I think it came out at 180rwhp, as its rating was 180flywheel. Something about these 911s. they were all rated very conservative, dont you think?? I remember testing my 928 before I started racing it in POC. it was rated at 224flywheel hp and it dynoed at 177rwhp before I started bolting things on to it.

The point was not to say that 230rwhp is not possible, the point was to say, the car wasnt clad with a stock poor little 220flywheel hp engine that ran a 1:37 out at laguna, it was a very lightweight 911, with a 270flywheel hp engine.

So, no education nessesary, I think you just missed my point.
Now as far as the old 3.0L engines making 230rwhp, i think they need a little more than just a header and exhaust, but the owners will need to tell us how they do it. many of them have gone through the engines to the limit of the rules. I dont really know. I havent chit chatted with the POC guys in a very long time.

What is the difference? What is the point?

Hey, the BMW 2.5 liter 2500lb e30s run 230rwhp as well and run 1:36-37s too. And, they do it with 2 less cylinders!

(Bryan knows some of these guys, like Mickey, Gill, trefethen, Ross, etc)
