The Red race was a hoot to watch Saturday from the podium stand. Drew Waterhouse, driving his warhorse 04' cup with over 200 hours on the motor/trans, hunted down Drier in his 08' cup and Brian Wong in his 07' and was challenging Joseph for second position into the last lap. He got next to him but got squeezed coming out of T11 and lost his advantage and one position to Wong in a drag race to the line. He had the crowd hooting and hollering as he beat up on the newer Cups. It was one hell of a fine driving performance....
Anderson? He made it look easy like a Saturday afternoon cruise....

no kidding when you and brian round T11 and got on the throttle, he had no chance.....
and drew was driving as ballsy as he can, still can't catch up. it was great watching the fast guys in POC.
dont know if you saw the qual time for aspesi's BSR. 1:42.....
can you convince POC to come up to infineon? that would be great fun!

I debuted my just built 99'-996 Spec. Worked on setup all weekend and still have a ways to go but the car handles better than I expected. I believe I hit the high 37's in Sundays race (official results not yet posted). I won class both days (4- 996Specs) and finished 4th overall Saturday and 2nd on Sunday in 32 car fields.
This car and this series is going to be successful when you have completed cars that can be built for $40-45k running as fast as we did this weekend. Cal Speedway's up in a month and I predict 1:48's or better from these cars....

The 996 Spec's are cool - however beware that should you try the class your own success may vary. Personally being a friend of John and seeing how hard he has worked on his driving skills with both professional coaching and endless practice sessions it's not that surprising that he was fastest in the class in a car just 3 weeks old (as a race car).
He was, however, a stress monster the entire weekend.

I'll actually be in Monte Carlo that weekend!!
50/50 chance the next event for me is Buttonwillow.
If not then, see U in Dec. at Willow (the $64 question is what car will Mark take to Willow?????)
