Default Lico racing suit

Has anyone tried the new Lico racing suit?
http://www.saferacer.com/jade-racing...productid=1952

I am looking for an affordable 3-layer 1-piece SFI 3.2A/5 driving suit and this one pops up as the most affordable choice. I am interested in knowing what people said about it before I jump to my decision. Aside from this suit, are there any other suits that are priced reasonable? Thanks!

ps. I've tried eBay as well. It's close to impossible to find anything of my size being a smallish woman.

You get what you pay for...

For that price range you are going to get a heavy, bulky feeling suit that's not very breathable and not very comfortable.

Racequip is another choice for that price range, not bad for the money, but its a cheap suit.

Give Bob at Driving Impressions a call, he might have some nice older model suits left over in very small sizes, 800-275-4667.

Try Driving Impressions... I first bought some Diadora shoes from them when I started back East in the 80's. I visited them last about 5 years ago on a trip to NJ... my wife grew up near their shop. She found some stuff there at a great price.

If you are perhaps interested in saving some money and would consider used/good condition, I suggest that you post a "wanted" type of ad on some of the local PCA BB's like the Golden Gate Region site. There are quite a few slightly built and/or petite female ex-racers around this area, as well as some that still race and may have recently bought new suits.

+1 about buying last year's fashions at steep discounts.

OG racing has some awesome deals at times.

since you are in bay area, drive up to sears point and try on some of their suits. they are usually pretty expensive but they often discount (and still expensive).

try a very good suit on first, then you will understand why you NEED to pay for a good one.
remember, this time at thunderhill is often 100+ deg. you want a LWT suit. most of my buddies start with cheap suit thinking of saving money, the ALL now wear sparco Xlight or something equally as $$$

GForce if you want affordable. GForce outlet if you want really cheap

One of my suits is a GForce 545 and its a very nice suit. Perhaps not as lighweight as my $1K suit but it only cost me $350.

I bought a last years sparco x-lite for half price and was very pleased. Love the suit, ultra light and nice and cool. Deffinitely worth the extra few bucks IMHO

I agree with Mooty -- try suits on at Infineon to work out size and fit. Then you can search for the same size/make/model, Winecountry may be able to get you a deal but they do tend to be on the expensive side. Another local place you can work with is IO-Port in Lafayette http://www.ioportracing.com/

Ah I didn't have the chance to call OG Racing to check out.

Thanks guys! You are right. I hated Lico once I tried it on. It was so warm and heavy that I couldn't take it even in a AC room.

I got an OMP discounted suit for half the price and absolutely like it. It's not three layers but two. http://www.winecountrymotorsports.co...roducts_id=270
