Tested Koolbox electric helmet AC at VIR race
I installed and used my new Koolbox heltmet electric A/C at the VIR race and it works very well.
This is what nascar has used for years as well as many of the closed cockpit DPs.
It works very well and there is no ice/water - all electric.
Consumes 22 amps on high and 16 amps on low.

Mine is the less expensive-LOL Koolbox SP (club version) which is the exact same guts as the Koolbox V (pro version) just in less expensive packaging and no CO filter.

Drifting
On TV the other day it looked like some of the BMW Koni teams were running a fresh air system but without the coolbox, appeared to just be a naca duct on the passenger side window are running a hose to a pump attached to the cage on the passenger side harness bar, then the exit hose to the driver seat. Obviously wouldn't be as cold as a Koolbox since it's just running on ambient air, but they are required to run with the windows open anyway so maybe the box isn't required. It looked pretty simple and cheap compared to the aftermarket box systems. Got me thinking about getting a helmet with a duct when the SA2010's come out...

I want one of them! Now all I need is a car to use it in.

I need something like this for Mosport at the end of the month. I nearly died at the 80 mins mark on Sunday at VIR, even AFTER only getting in the car at 40mins! Although I'm thinking that cutting the windows out (997 Cup) will help.
