They were at VIR for an MB weekend and Pumpelly turning very low 1:50's. The thoughts I've heard are that the engine will be restricted a bit from what it is right now. It was decked out in WC GT decals already.

Dry weight 1,450kg. (that's nearly 3,200 lbs dry)
Is that a lot for a race car?

With a power reduction to around the 500 that World Challenge GT likes to see, I would think that should put it in a competitive spot on the current grid.

They ran the audis at 3200lbs spec weight with driver and at one point, it had 275lbs of rewards weight that still won a few races! Thats 3475lbs, on DOTs and still 2:14 at Road America!

As with evertything he does, I'm sure it will be first class. I'd love to see TRG back in ALMS someday.

I didn't know that was a rule, wonder if it will change since GT1 is disappearing?

My friends wife actually did some work on the SLR's carbon tub before moving to the US and becoming a fulltime mommy

Where is GT1 going? I thought it was still going to exist...just that no cars would be entering the class in ALMS this coming season.

I thought the same but there were some comments made in the Lemans coverage that made me believe they were going to a single GT class, maybe they were just talking about ALMS. I really love the GT1's and they are still active in the European series so I hope they don't disapear completely..

A couple pictures of the car in World Challenge livery at VIR for a recent Mercedes track day with Pumpelly at the wheel:

Based on the stickers, it seems like we may be seeing the car sooner rather than later.
