Default "Crazy 993 driving on open roads..."

Saw this thread and video on the 993 forum,
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...pen-roads.html

Though the comments on thread were that the driver was crazy, reckless and had no skills, it appears he attempted to take the quickest line.

His craziness and recklessness was definitely due to his mental lapse in choosing to do this on public roads with oncoming traffic. But wishing "This is one carrera I wouldn't mind seeing crash...with this guy behind the wheel..."

But what prompted me to post this here was the comment "Pick a lane, dude."

Aside from his mental lapse, I wanted to hear others, who race and DE, opinions on his "no skills"...

One seriously retarded video. I second the no skills bit. There is no "line" based on the fact there is traffic coming the other way. Let's put it this way...when you are on the track or hillclimb for that matter you are running at around 9-10/10ths. In other words....FLAT OUT. And, you are or at least should be using the entire road. THIS is a proper "hillclimb" event on a closed off road in Europe.

THIS is driving. That other video is some moron with a death wish.

Maybe I expressed the wrong sentiment. I didn't mean to infer he was correct in what he did. Just, it appears he attempted to be quick by taking the entire road to do so. But its quite apparent he had a mental lapse in choosing to do so.

When it comes to street "hill climbs", "canyon runs", and other nonsense, it's about 20% skill, 30% car, and 50% how much you're willing to take stupid risks. Also, there's a lot more to being fast or a good racer than just knowing the line and how to compensate for oversteer or understeer.

C.
THAT has convinced me to never even think about running my cup car at a hillclimb.
