I'll put money on that it cant!

305s took at little change to my 10 year old pack up technique, vs the 275s and 305s. However, I found away to make it work

Thanks for the pic!

Can you share the details of that roof rack?

I'm pretty sure it's just a standard Thule or Yakima rack system, they both have brackets for he 944/968. Once you have the main cross beams, the rest can be done with home depot stuff, just like what I did on the tounge of my trailer; 1 1/2" threaded pipe floor flange and a short piece of pipe to thread into it. Figgure out some way to bolt the flange to the cross bars (U bolts or such) and you're golden.

As John mentioned, it's a jig I scoped and assembled that just centers 4 wheels/tires while affixing to the crossbars of the stock Porsche 944/968 roof rack (ever wonder what those little bolt holes under the hatch are for?). Factory roof rack came in a BIG Porsche box.

Pretty sure I'm the only knucklehead driving a car to races and back. Now, where did we leave that transporter???

Very bad idea.
I am fairly certain that configuration will exceed the tongue weight spec for that hitch/receiver.
A failure waiting to happen.

Wow, this is great, it made me realise that I have a similar rack I used on my daily driver and tonight I checked if it fit on the 944 and it does

Do you think this trim piece is sturdy enough though?

Could you tell me also what you used to wheels from moving around?

All (4) 305x18s in the 928. Along with cooler, tent, tool box, spare parts, (2) 5 gal gas cans, jack, scooter, overnight gear, racing gear, etc.

7 full racing seasons, no DNF's, most always driven to and from the track. Sometimes with a wingman too. (That's scotty in his 5 liter old bugger)

I haul my rear wheels on a Yakima rack on my 911. I built a couple T-shaped bars that tie the front and rear Yakima bars together with the leg of the T sticking up thru the center of the wheel. I run a strap around each tire and the rack in an x-fashion and ratchet it tight, works really well. There is a not that great picture of it here. The T-bars are attached to the Yakima bars with U-bolts. the T thing sticking up is really just for piece of mind the straps hold the tires really well, and having the front and rear bars tied together makes the rack very rigid.
In the image, the round bars are the Yakima bars, running across the car.

here is another option.

This guy drove 700 miles one way like this. Won vs 25 other 944 spec cars and drove home.
