Glad you all enjoyed it . I've watched it a few times now because there's so much action going on - traffic, a one to one dual, waking up a gallardo...all while trying to keep it on the Green Hell.
I'm sure the viper lifts along Antoniusbusche when he sees the slow car in front which is enough to give the advantage back to the GT3, which he clearly didn't blow away.

Imho, it seemed pretty even on the straight, but the viper slowed when traffic came up.
Also, isn't this not the normal ring config? It's like the ring + the other track. If you cut out that track (I forget the name) the lap time is closer to 7:30. (normal ring starts 2:20 ends 9:45 about)

to my eye, the Viper definitely appeared to handle much better than the GT3. but, the GT3 driver had a ******** that needs a wheelbarrow to be toted around in! the Viper driver was definitely taking less chances! lol! super fun vid to watch! bravo to the poster!

It seemed the viper would have been significantly faster than the GT3,
and unless this was an ego-match, I would have expected the GT3
driver to let the viper by after first three times in a row the viper was
resting it's chin on the GT3's back bumper all the way into, around,
and out of a corner. And the Lambo had *way* to many decals and
extra wing area to just let these people by, especially when he was
fully occupied with schooling some econo-boxes.

Repost, but since everyone is so enamored with that video they'd probably like this one, Sabine onboard in the rain-
Very impressive for the wet. (although I cringe everytime I hear those unmatched seq downshifts)
Renntv took down the best one, which was the Scheid M3 GTR vs. the Manthay 996TT
If you really want to see how a GT3 should be driven (keep in mind its just a test)-

What are you comparing lap times with. This was on the race circiut, which is different than some of the other timed runs Ive seen. I think Sabine did a 9min lap in a Van once
Ever watch the SpeedGT WC? vipers and GT3s with all the the bolt ons, run pretty darn close EVERWHERE on the track, long and short. a great example of this was at Long Beach. some damn good drivers were running the vipers and vets with near 550rwhp each vs the porsche with maybe 100hp less and half the engine torque.
Edit: If you compare these cars to the Viper ACR record of 7:22, they are not far behind. maybe 6 seconds slower, so under 7:30 even WITH all that hidious traffic! (and only when they got near the Lambo and the other real slow traffic did they lose much ground)
Here is the 7:22 record ACR Viper run.

Im not even going to go into HP/weight. So, lets stay with Force/weight ratio. Both are pretty close. The extra lightness of the GT3 should give it advantages in braking and cornering, but the viper has bigger tires and is wider. Both are close, but the viper seems to have a slight Force/weight advantage as shown by the straight line high speed. (Force/aero drag ratio too!)
Keep in mind, I dont think we know what version of the comp coupe viper this is or the GT3 cup car . The range is so great, it could go EITHER way at first glance. (i.e. WCGT spec GT3, Viper or GT3cup spec vs ViperDays Comp coupe, or GT2 ALMS Viper?)
Did you hear the viper and its sequential shifting! very cool!

Three Wheelin'
Correct. This configuration is the Nordschleiffe plus the Grand Prix track.
