I don't have hood pins, but almost made it in after a tech inspection. As I drove away, my hood popped up as I accelerated. I wanted to kill that F*cker for not bothering to latch it, close it or tell me he was too stupid to do it.

I forgot to latch my targa top on the 964 once. Somehow I caught it by the front lip with my right hand just as it started to lift off as I pulled on to the freeway. That would've been a pretty expensive mistake.

I was there too. It was one of those moments where your friend hits a golf shot that bounces off a tree, and lands in the water behind him. You feel bad for him, but at the same time, you're about to bust a gut.

BTW, Richard, you didn't exactly tell me that I was supposed to put those pins back in did you?

My induction occured at a NASA race last year at Summit Point...

Qualifying session...just finished the warm up lap, was going down the front straight...all of a sudden...WHAM!... I couldn't see ahead of me...Hood slapped up and bounced on the roof, too!

New windshield installed...Roof repaired!

My new mantra..."must check hood pins"

Chairman of the Board here....

996 Cup, Road Atlanta cresting hill before turn 12 full boogie....SMASH windshiled glass everywhere, cant see, manage to get it slowed and not take out any competitors. Turn 12 is sooo easy and wide now You cant believe it. Much harder to drive it blind!

Funniest thing was when PCA tried to give me a 13 for hitting my own car....almost died laughing...got off because the grid worker said he had checked it, which he had...guess he undid them...

Last time was my fault just forgot to put them in, going over 100 in practice, SMASH....same result woohoo..Im an idiot!!!lol

Make sure to put a stock hood release in Your Cars as a backup is the best advice I can give.

My wrench did it to my car! He called me and up and said "jim, I have a little problem here...."

Turns out he was test driving it on the road by his shop and it blew up, folded over, and took out the windshield. He paid for it. At least he was honorable about his honest mistake.

Congrats Glen on your nomination!
