Talking interior going full race...some pics...

converting the turbo over to full race (as mentioned before so no flaming) anyway its coming along now and needs to be ready by May 3rd so thought would post a few pics...as some of you guys "may" appreciate what I am going through and how much fun this will be when done.

the car as pictured below weighs 2618 pounds.

took 47 pound roof off and replaced it with this 8 pound CF one....

this is the seat I went with (thanks for all the advise)

fire suppression and radio stuff and dash going in now.

I will race it at Sebring PBOC event in May so anyone that is going to be there be kind to me!!

Not flaming but wouldn't it be better to just buy a 997 GT3 Cup?

yes but I feel that would be a different level of racing and really different venues. I have no problem running this car in PBOC NASA and some PCA club races. you really dont see in PBOC and NASA which are mostly what I will run many if any Cup cars. those guys are a breed above me and my skill level.

Man that's going to be a nice race car.

I recommend putting a diagonal through the main B-pillar hoop as some groups require one.

Jack thanks, I will have Vortex look into it again, I thought they made this cage PCA, NASA, and SCCA legal?

That is a NASA rule. Looks really cool otherwise.

yup, needs the main hoop diagonal

I'm really surprised by all the shops that build cages without reading the rulebooks or being familiar with the basic rules. Not just the guys who take their cars to circle track/offroad/dragrace fabricators but racing shops that specialize in Porsche's. Seems like every few weeks a proud owner shows off his cage only to be told it's illegal. Luckily it's a pretty easy fix in this case, but a hassle to have to paint it twice.

+1 on the diagonal and also I believe atleast SCCA GCR has a rule about 4 max bends for the main hoop, yours looks like 5 in the pictures. I can't remember off the top of my head if that is also in NASA and PCA but worth checking before you get all done with it.
