Default CMP course for Carolinas Region PCA DE in May

Now that we've had several events at Carolina Motorsports Park using the new 12-13 sweeper configuration, we've been considering using the original 12-13 for one date a year. So for our upcoming May 16/17 event, what's the opinions?

I'll take all points of view. Of course those that are registered for the event will get more say in the matter.

Registration for the event is open at www.carolinas-pca.com.

Thanks
Brian Powell

I haven't driven the old course, but the new course is fantastic!!! I don't think that last section of the old configuration is needed or beneficial from watching the videos unless you want more distance covered per lap.

Brian, please keep using the new course! The old 11-14 section was by far my least favorite section of that track.

Don't know that I'm gonna make this one, but why not use one each day? More "educational". Now, just do something about the gators on the outsideof 14 - BRUTAL!
Cheers

Hi Brian,

As much as I like the new configuration, the old one was fun too.... I like the thought of using the old configuration once in a while...

I liked the new configuration better too, but I noticed enough dead rubber to build another tire toward the left edge of the right sweeper. Need to do Lowe's afterward to even out the tire wear.

I think going back to the old configuration for a day would make me appreciate the new configuration more. BRR-PCA will be there in late May; I wonder if they've also considered doing it both ways. Why not make it more exciting by making it optional?

Jeff really wants to know if there's anything you can do about straightening out T3?

We actually had talked about running one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. But felt students would just be grasping the idea of turn in points when we'd change the track on them.

Of course Bob would be the first one to try the old 12 with the new 13.

Brian:

I'm registered. I've driven both, and either the old or new is fine with me. While I really like the reconfiguration in T12-13, I think the best thing CMP did was in the inner radius at T14.

Thanks for asking.

Ed
