Default Road Atlanta video

First of all I want to say thanks to Doug Crossman for being my mentor during my rookie weekend and for keeping me dry during the monsoon (gotta get an enclosed trailer someday). It rained continuously from Thursday through Saturday and after not missing a single session I am glad to have brought the car home in one piece. PCA and Peachstate Region put on a great event under some tough conditions and my thanks go out to all the volunteers who made it happen.

The video is from Sunday's sprint with 52 cars from B to G, the Spec 944s, and GT5-6S. I was having a great time chasing Robbie Strickland's F class Euro Carrera until my car started starving for fuel in turn 7 and eventually 12 and 1. If anyone knows how to get in touch with him let me know as I'd like to share the video with him. There's also a clip from Friday's fun race in the rain on my Vimeo page.

Thanks again Doug and I'll see you and everyone else at Mid Ohio.

Is it just my hearing or are you not blipping the throttle on downshifts? Seems like you don't do a lot of gear changes either....

My thoughts too...Driving a stock class car looks so tame now.

Great driving, very smooth!

You couldn't possibly find a better mentor. Doug is a real good guy, knows all the ins and outs, and is a real fast driver.

You are so right on all accounts. He had one 1st and I think 3 2nds in E over the weekend, very fast!

It's just a Sony Mini-DV camera with a zoom lens and a cotton ball taped over the mic to cut down on the wind noise. The camera actually died over the weekend most likely because of all the water inside the car. The editing was done on a MacBook with iMovie and now I am putting something together from the enduro.

I hold 3rd from T1 all the way to 7, use 2nd in turns 7, and 10, and get into 4th on both straights. Going through the esses faster would probably mean I could use 4th on the downhill but every time I tried the tail would step out on me. Aside from adjustable sways and a strut brace my car still has the stock suspension. Car and driver have MUCH room for improvement. And I was blipping on downshifts...

Hupfer is good, but don't leave any gatorades out in the open around him if you want to keep them...
