Back to the old IMSA era, with all of my buddies. Here is a nice vid of the Nissan GTP putting out near 1000 BHP. Ah, these were the days...

Honestly - one of these. (And the lessons needed to drive it properly).

1973/74 911 RSR with the 2.8 motor. I don't have enough talent to drive it properly, but what I wouldn't give to drive one on track!

I'd love to be one of the "gentleman racers" go out and run ALMS, Petit LeMans in a RSR, or go out and run Monterey or Silverstone in some old iron 917, just for grins.

OK, looking at trends:

Seems we have as many "team principals" as aspiring Hamiltons, etc. HAS anyone driven (or tested) at that level? I sure always wanted to, but no way did I have the funds to sniff at that.

But it seems that taking what we know best (production based) to the logical extreme appeals to most.

Note how no one yet wants to stay at the dance with the date he brung!

(And finally, I intentionally omitted circle track other than IRL. I know that's not the audience here, but if anyone has driven on dirt that IS a skill. I totally forgot about rally, sorry about that!)
