Default List your diesel fuel economy mileage

It seems people always ask what kind of mileage people get in the different makes and models, but there is no good searchable resource for that info. And, there are no ratings for diesels, so I'd like to compile a list for people like me who are looking, that can be easily searched for in the future. In my shopping so far, I've heard all over the place of what something "should" get, but little on what people actually get. Hope this can be helpful for other people down the road.

Ford F-250 PSD crew cab short bed.
Highway 17 mpg, not sure of city, since it doesn't go there.
Towing about 11 mpg (CargoPro enclosed).
Truck has about 5,000 miles on it.

Mercedes ML320 towing Trailex open trailer with total weight for car, trailer and accessories about 4800 lbs. With expressway speed of 70, mileage is approx 14/gal. If I run at constant 80, it's around 13. Not suitable for towing your rig. Vehicle is too light.

I got 9 mpg regularly beating down the interstate with my 45 triple axle gooseneck. If I got behind a semi and ran there, I got 14 mpg. Unhooked, I get 18 highway. Truck is listed in my sig below.

Wow, for a diesel, that sucks. I get that in my gas 3/4 ton Yukon XL towing a 3,000 car + 5 extra wheels/tires + heavy steel open trailer, on moderately hilly terrain.

The tow pig generally gets about 15 mpg towing the car on an 18 foot open Trailex.

Dave-
I did a little measurement on my round trip down to Savannah last weekend.
I have an '06 F-350 with 55K and tow a 24' Millenium trailer that grosses aboout 19,800 loaded for bear...

On my roughly 1000 mile roundtrip going 70 - 75 MPH I averaged 11.8 MPG

Without the trailer in mixed driving I historically get about 13.8 MPG

The newer Fords with the exhaust gas BS routinely get several MPG less than the older trucks.

If you look above, my 08 (PSD (Job # 3)) is getting 13.6 compared to your 06 13.8. under what appear to be similar conditions (mixed driving with no regard to economy).

I would say based on that, the mileage is pretty similar....(damned statistics!)
