Default Transporting race cars around the country

I need to get my 53 Ward Kurtis down to Jon Ward in Alpine, Texas. The distance is about 1800 miles. Would prefer a transporter with tailgate elevators who is willing to take along a box of components (heads, carb, etc.) Any suggestions for quality/cost? I have quotes from Passport and Sunday's auto transport. This is the car that won the LaCarrera in 1991.
Jon was at my home, hated the new motor in the Kurtis, and wants to put in another one. As he is 71 now, I want him to be the one to get it "right", and need to do it fairly soon. Thanks for all advice AS

I will add this: whoever you pick insist that they use an unmarked transporter. Alpine Texas is very close to the border, and there have been some nasty incidents ionvolving mexican bandits and narcos in that area. Hate to see your vehicle get jacked.

A great outfit based in Zionsvillle, Indiana is Classic Car Carriers, (317) 769-3609, Ed and Mike Dalton. They have shipped cars for me, and are the extra carriers for Midwest Eurosport for all the Club Race weekends. Great guys, careful, experienced and reasonable. I highly recommend them. www.classiccarcarrier.com

Thanks guys. The Kurtis is pretty much the 'anti-Porsche", but I sure love it. Will follow up the leads.
And, if any of you come to Indiana, we can take it for a ride since the constabulary was kind enough to give me a street plate. AS
