Good catch. I'm not a racer, so the pre-race strategy aspect hadn't occurred to me

My concern is not rain, but rather standing water, as TWS is prone to when it rains hard.

Clearly the track is not usable when it is raining hard due to standing water. Also you have the inexplicable and inexcusable safety problems off of the outside of turns 1 and 3. I got the pleasure of watching a near fatal accident in Turn 3 in 2004 and I am not looking forward to thinking about that again.

Does anybody have any weather forecast that does not predict torrential rain for the entire weekend? That is what I am seeing: http://www.kbtx.com/weather. In my experience it does not rain gently in this part of the country.

I was there in 2004 and saw that, too.

Chris, this is the forecast I have found is the most accurate. Enter "College Station, TX".

Well, Sunday calls for partly cloudy and only a 20% chance. The forecasts for Friday and Saturday are trending wetter for the northern parts of SE TX (College Station). I'll spare ya'll the gory details.

Sounds like it may be like the club race at MSR-Cresson in May 2007. Rained for the first day and a half. Although this TWS forecast sounds "wetter"...

Anyone notice the Esperante that is registered for the DE? I've seen one on a showroom floor, but never on a track.

One of my first races at TWS was in a tube frame 914 with 9" slicks and pouring down rain on sat. Boy that was fun!! Little honda's tearing me up on the infield until sunday when it dried out.

I have a totally non-rain-related question:

What's the deal with the wine tasting and dinner on Friday night? I'm signed up and paid, and it sounds like a lot of fun. But, I can't find the logistics (meeting location, time, etc.) anywhere--I've looked on lsrpca.com and clubregistration.net.

Don't know about a wine tasting, but we'll have the usual martini tasting going on in the garage after the track goes cold.

Wine Tasting is at Messina Hof. I don't know exactly when though.

However, I'm staying for Martinis!
