In closing, just a few words......
M. Kibort- great, comprehensive analysis, thank you.......
I am appreciative for everyone that spent the time to read and answer this and all my OP for that matter.....
I gather from my critics that, if I must, I should ask more specific questions such as:
Which motor oil is the fastest?
Which tire and wheel combination will give me an advantage?
Which sexy avatar will get me more aroused?
Well, I will leave it to the geniuses to ask those questions.....
I am, afterall, a simple man......
Peace.....

paolo- if you really want to go race, you can always arrive and drive with skip barber. they have races all year long in CA and FL. no car to buy, just do a couple schools and figure out if you really want to do it.
for me, time is not a good enough excuse if you want to race bad enough. everyone can get away for a weekend here or there otherwise there is not enough commitment.
money is the only excuse I accept- racing is expensive.
I believe that there has to be at least some natural talent, but like in all sports- absolute determination and training conquers lazy talent all the time. keep in mind that at the highest levels of this sport is within tenths of seconds- so if a pro driver in your car is more than 1 or 2 seconds faster than you with your same setup- you've got a long way to go...and a lot of us do.
