I had similar difficulties with the GoPro in editing. It kept crashing MovieMaker, and trying to splice in clips from different cameras was really difficult. I was running a CamCorder on the car, another one trackside, and the GoPro off the back. Cutting and splicing it all together was very frustrating.

GoPro camera produce video in MJPEG format which is hidden in an .avi container. That's enough to confuse quite a few video processing apps.

We've added MJPEG/GoPro support to TrackVision V2.1 [now in Beta test]. It was far more challenging than supporting high frame rate HD video! Its done, but it was a royal pain!

If you have a data logger, and would like to overlay your data over your video, then take a look at www.trackvision.net.

Should you get it? Every home should have one.

While I don't I have a Chasecam I use Pinnacle Studio Plus (12.1) which does work with HD and even supports the Aiptek's .MOV format natively now. It also supports MPEG-2 as stated on their site..

"Video: AVCHD*, DV, HDV, AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DivX®*, MPEG-4*, 3GP(MPEG-4)*, WMV"

I have your solution grasshopper. (oriental music starts)

I had the same issues. All you need is to convert the mpg to AVI file...then it works fine on movie maker. I emailed traqmate and he sent me the converter for free...it's called TQ Convert.

according to Google, that's QT convert, not TQ.
And it's downloading as we speak.
Thanks, R-guys.

"It just works" is the easiest answer. Takes all the stress out of it

See you at Road ATL in a couple months?
