Default GT3RS seats vs Sparco Evo2 seats

I already have a pair of Evo2's, have an opportunity to get a pair of GT3RS seats. Any thoughts on getting the GT3's for the track (DE only)? Or is it just personal preference/fit? The only problem with the Evo2's that I have is that the lap belt routing is tight and the seat bolster rubs the center console ( the car is my DD).

Thanks,

Bro

I have the Evo 2s, and there is a little more room in those than in the GT3 (996) seats. But, the GT3 seats are a little lower. I think they are both very comfortable. But, I'd try to sit in them to see which you like better.

Thanks Chuck. I currently use a Deist driving suit which is quite thick and the Evo 2 is as snug as I can deal with. With a slimmer suit (Sparco, et al) maybe the GT3 seat would work.

I had the Evo2s in my 964 RSR and the GT3 RS in my 996 RS(R) and if an Evo2 is the right fit for you, you have VERY little chance of being comfortable in the extremely tight fit of the RS seat. I eventually got a Corbeau wide fit that is nearly identical in look to the OEM one but wider at the shoulders and lower back. Try before you buy!

like everyone said, if you barely fit Evo2, forget GT3 seats.
i am 185lbs, 32" waist, 5'9" and if you are much bigger than me, GT3 seat will not be comfy.

Thanks to all that replied. I'm going to try a GT3 seat out with my suit Monday and report back. Maybe pigs can fly....

dont just sit in one. try to drive the car for 30 min. then see if you are still happy.

I was going to go to a dealer. I think I can compare the fit to my Evo 2 seats and extrapolate the time factor. Also, I m not sure when I could round up a 1/2 hour driving session.

Thanks,

Bro

I have the GT3 seats. I'm 5'10/185 and don't find them a tight fit at all. They are a pretty comfortable compromise seat. I'm utterly comfortable in them during very long drives. Even girlfriends don't complain. These are not flat out pure track seats. On the track, I wish the side bolsters were a little higher. But this is my DD and these seats are perfect. I wear a HANS by the way and have no issues with the combo..

I was going to put my OEM sports seats back in off season, but they are comfortable enough that it wasn't worth the bother.
