Another tip besides hardwiring the 12VDC is to pick up 1400 mAh batteries. The Aiptek A-HD+1080P I just picked up at Walgreens comes with 1200 mAh batteries which is good up to 200 images (still), up to 90 minutes (video).
You can pick up two 1400 mAh batteries off of ebay for a mere $9.00 like I did. The picture shows a comparison from the 1200 mAh vs 1400 mAh batteries. It is working perfectly with the Aiptek. The 1800 mAh battery would be ideal which is selling for $30 on the Aiptek site.
