Default Aiptek Black Friday Deal at Walgreens

I saw this on Yahoo today:

10 Best Bets for Black Friday

Aiptek A-HD 8-Megapixel Camcorder
$79.99 at Walgreens

You're not going to shoot the next Star Wars on here, but for what it is, it's hard to argue with such an inexpensive and compact camcorder. Just pop in an SD card (if you don't have one, they can be had for practically nothing in other Black Friday sales and elsewhere) and you're good to shoot 720p high-def video at 30 frames per second, and 8-megapixel stills. At this price, you can get one for the kids, one to shoot those slightly precarious extreme sports videos that end up on YouTube, and one to duct tape to the dog.

I was doing some research on the forum here for in-car video and there seems to be plenty of Aiptek fans so I thought I'd post that for anyone interested in jumping in at a low price. I'm not sure it's the best price out there, but it's got to be pretty good - it seems to be about $50 off the Amazon price.

Got one. I will either use it as a back-up to my existing one, or maybe set up a dual camera system with one looking out the back window.

Nice find, thanks. Anyone know if you have to order the remote from Aiptek or is there another source?

via AV input but can only record at 640x486 (VGA) resolution. I have the Aiptek MPVR model (only expandable up to 2GB via SD card) which also has AV input. I bought a bullet cam off ebay and connected it to the AV input.

I read the long thread on these here. Did anyone ever figure out how to 12v hard wire these in a racecar or is the frankencharger still the standard?

I think if you just clip the cigarette lighter end off of the Frankencharger, and hardwire it, you should be set. That's on my to-do list with my track car.
