Default PCA Club Race Preference Questions

My Region is in the process of planning next years club race at Mid-Ohio in May. Thought i would throw it out for some comments on some options.
1) 3 day race including Friday for practice (Not DE rule test and tune)
2) What about eliminating enduro having two sprints Saturday and two Sunday
3) If we do a DE what about NASA style running DE run groups over the weekend
4) New Ideas (your turn)
5) is the economy going to keep you home next year??

I'll be there.

3 day event: 2 sprints, 1 enduro. Do NOT eliminate the enduro.

3 day, a must.

2 sprints + full enduro (90 minutes). Do not eliminate the enduro. Treat the two sprints equally (trophies for both, etc).

I may not be there due to the economy (I need a job).

I missed the 08 event, and hope to return in 09. I will say however that the economy will force me to prioritize events. We locally have LRP and WGI close on either side of Mid-O.

Format:
Practice and sprint qualifying on Friday
2 sprints on Saturday
90 min enduro on Sunday

3 day including enduro...

What is with the DE Test & Tune days - I noticed the same thing for the Sebring test day 2009.

Thanks,
Norm

Norm its just clubs trying to find ways to defray the costs but this year we are shooting for putting on a top notch event that racers want to come to. So Looking for the perfect combination. We got the message last year that 3 days is a must it will be 3 days this year.

Strongly agree. This format is a winner.

Also, consider running the pro course for a change. It opens up another good passing zone and makes for better racing.

I agree. The chicane is wild and fun but the pro course would definitely create another passing opportunity. Also, the chicane always seems to be one of the wettest spots on the track when it rains... and it always rains.

Plus, it would be a something different.

+1 again, what he said....

and depending on your turnout.... we ran 3 sprints and an enduro at CMP. (one on Fri, 2 Sat, enduro Sun). Lots of racing!!

I am doing everything I can to be there. Nadine my wife did your T&S last year.

it seems to me your biggest problem is WGI happening so close, which is tough to sell against. I'm honestly shocked that Mid Ohio has such low attendence - world class track with tons of history....

All I know is Mid-Ohio is on my list! I know my wife and I have a trip to San Fran next May so hopefully I can work this in as long as the schedule doesn't clash.

Oh and I forgot: The parking/available paddock last year was ridiculous. The track really screwed us over with that.

Actually, it caused a race team (I won't say which but it begins with an F) to jack up and MOVE my friends car Thurs night (without his permission) because it was near where they wanted to put their rig. Nice.

Dell I hope you can work it out so I can show you the same hospitality you offered me coming to VIR, but I will make VIR next year.

That was a first what happened last year, that the track took back the upper paddock we sure don't expect that again.

Please give us any constructive criticism or suggestions
