Actually they are very accurate and will be the same scales in use at the March HCR/LSR club race. It wasn't our intention to offer advice on how to setup your car but rather to satify the curiosity we all have. That and to show the new guys a taste of what to expect as racers if they ever go that far. As for John who commented on your setup, he'll give you his opinion whether you ask for it or not. He is a former IMSA/F1/PCA racer. He just doesn't look the part.

It was great to have the scales at the DE and I hope we continue to have them. My only disappointment was that I found out my boxster needs to go on a diet to get close to the minimum weight for its class....oh well....

Ahem, he probably had plenty of that gas handy. Not the type he needed at the time.

Bwahahaha!

Totally off-topic but related to the above quote: our waitress at Chuy's last night had a shirt on that said "Chuy's: Our Gas Is Cheaper".

Never gets old, no matter how old you get... (for males, anyway)

I really appreciate all the work you do and have done to help put on a great event. With my comments I am just trying to help some people out.

I could go on and on about how to properly scale a car and my experience but I'm not trying to impress anybody so I will just to defer to a couple really basic articles from a credible source. Please take note where they discuss about total changes and how the scales pads can bind, you might check your wood boards that you were using for ramps, they can cause a variance if you are not very careful.

Chris, don't take my comments to imply that I do not appreciate getting the weights on my car, quite the contrary. I was pleasantly surprised to have that service available and to be able to get a total weight, since I was very curious as to what it was.

As for my exchange with John, I simply found it amusing. Admittedly, I mostly only amuse myself.

Oh I'm not worried about what you said at all, honest. Saturday night I had several drivers laughing when I pulled the pin on an extinguisher and shot John with it when he was drawing on my Turbo. He got mad when I wasted an extinguisher but he totally isn't giving me credit for my enjoyment out of that stunt!
