Track is very nice.

Weather was great today. It was actually getting a little warm. No real carnage or incidents that I saw.

My car is doing ok after changing a hub and bleeding brakes. Geoffrey and Jeff Burger paddocked next to me and doing well. GR won the group 2 fun race. Blistering pace.

Good luck Mike and all others - I'll trailer up next year to enjoy the old home track.

Track starting to get crusty between six and seven during last sprint race. The rest still looks good.

Results for the first red sprint:

G class: Lee
F class: Betstadt (great drive for second place by Don Mattran)
D class: Moses
E class: Boris
GT5S: Chalfant
SP3: Buck
B class: Mann

Results for the second red sprint:

G class: Lee
D class: Moses
F class: Betstadt
E class: Boris
B class: Mann

I don't have the results for the other group, but I heard that Chris Musante made Mike Levitas work for his overall win. Andy Jenks had a painful wreck in T8 and bent up his pretty cup car. Glad to see you walking around, Andy. Geoffrey Ring decapitated a deer with his RF fender, while Dwayne Moses clipped another Bambi with a mirror.

We could not have asked for better weather. I chased a soft and long brake pedal all weekend, as well as a leaking LR rim in the two sprints, but I still had two great races with Louis Betstadt and Dwayne Moses (Skip Chalfant in his gorgeous Gulf blue GT5S car, too), both of whom I barely kept at bay with their unrelenting pressure. The track is fast, faster than last year prior to the repave, and mostly smooth.

Thanks to all of the volunteers who work so hard so we can have all of this fun. We appreciate it. Oh, thanks, Potomac, for taking the effort to give out trophies this year!

I am happy with my first time at the track up until the point where I hit the deer. I looked through the data and I was at 123mph when I hit it and only saw it the instance before I hit it so I never backed off. It damanaged my front bumper, hood, fender, door, and spread crap (literally) all down the side of the car. I do fee lucky I hit it where I did and it didn't go through the front windscreen. This occured on the second to last lap of Sprint 1 and I was still in 4th overall place.

Congratulations Mark, Lou, Dwayne, Steve and all the other winners and top finishers in the red sprint races.

Wow, based on the lap times and finish deltas it looks like that group had some very close racing. Wish I could have been there.

Glad to hear Andy is OK. Hope that beautiful cup car of his can be repaired.

I wish they would do something about the deer at Summit...some sort of fencing to keep deer from crossing onto the track shouldn't be too hard. It has happened to too many cars, not to mention the karting accidents involving deer. I always walk away from Summit feeling as if the owners just don't care about the place.

Sounds awesome - congrats Mark, Mike, and others. Sorry to hear about the deer instnaces and turn 8.

Todd w/ the DNF and then running in the second race I assume it wasn't too bad in race 1 - so, what happened

Good luck to all in the enduro tomorrow.

They have to install deer fencing at Summit Point! They are particularly bad this time of year, as they are elsewhere. Sorry to hear of your impact Geoffrey, but its good that it wasn't much worse.

Also sorry for your damages Andy, but happy to hear that you are doing well.
