Default Slotted Rotors for 993 TT

Anyone have a source for slotted rotors, front and rear, for a 993 TT (big Reds)?

I have big reds on my car (in black) and now run slotted rotors from VCI (front and rear).

I have 993TT "Big Red" brakes installed on my 964. I was constantly cracking the OEM drilled rotors. One of my 993 racing buddies gave me a tip a few years ago that I've used ever since. He recommended that I start buying solid 928S4 rotors (which are the same physical dimensions as the 993TT rotors) and send them out to be grooved. That's worked great for me!

I bought an '04 GT3 and have some spares left over from the 964 - including a set of brand-new slotted rotors. If you're interested in them, P.M. me with your phone number and I'll tell you more about them!

Terry,
I think you mean the 928 GTS rotors (for the front anyway). The S4 rotors are the same size as the standard 993 rotors I believe... I know for a face that the calipers are the same as the standard 993's on an S4, but the GTS uses a big red front caliper setup.

I'm not particularly well versed in 928, but here's the important thing: part numbers!
928.351.045.01
928.351.046.01

The weight penalty was not a big deal? I believe there is over 2 pounds a rotor difference when you go from the 928GTS rotors to the 993TT cast hole rotors+aluminum hats.

Where was the grooving done?

I chose longevity over weight. My 964 was going through 993TT drilled rotors like they were skittles. The slotted 928 rotors give you much, much longer life.

I don't recall who actually grooved the rotors, my shop coordinated it for me.
If you really wanna know drop me a PM and I'll forward it along to the shop owner.

FWIW: The rotors I have from VCI (slotted, floating with aluminum hats) lasted just over a year (10 two or three-day race weekends). I use Pagid Yellow pads and I believe I used 3 sets of them. My "964" weighs about 2175 lbs without me in it and minimal gas.

Unless you are talking about upgraded hats, the hats on standard 993TT rotors are definitely NOT aluminum. However, I have no clue how these rotors compare in weight to 928GTS rotors, even with the steel hats.
