Very cool race footage. I could do without the bling music.

Great footage, thanks for posting. Would have loved to have been there, or better yet, driving!

I'd love to hear the cars more than that music but it was fun to watch.

Yeah, sorry it has such a dreadful sound track. I muted it!

Anyone driven a car from that era? Loved pre-chicane Mulsanne (though I don't think there was much if any footage). And how about the Monza and 280Z.

Yes, in that era, but not a 935.

Default memories

i recall watching the IMSA TRANS AM 6 hour enduro at Watkins Glen in 1975-1976 with Porsche 934,s / 935,s and BMW CSL's, etc.

i believe some of the racers were:

peter gregg, hurley haywood, hans stuck, brian redman, sam posey, jacky ickx, derek bell, ronnie peterson, dieter quester, george follmer, jim busby, al holbert, paul miller, whittington brothers, etc.....

i recall a bright green Hermetite BMW CSL with yellow painted marijuana leaves with one sponsor name on front spoiler....NORML (national organization reform marijuana laws)

wow....

VR, awesome video.

When i was doing "DEs" with a 996 GT3, i thought it was a twitchy bitch to drive. Then i started racing 80's 911s and realized that the GT3 was not so twitchy afterall... And now i watch these older ticking bomb turbos in the video.. men were real men then!
