These guys are really pushing this year. Hopefully it will be one of those close finishes like Sebring last year (GT). A Porsche out front would be an added bonus.

This race was down to the wire last year, too. Actually, quite a few ALMS races have been nail biters the past two seasons. Awesome stuff.

Couldn't help but notice the name Helio Castroneves, didn't he just get arrested?

ALMS Announces Green Racing Initiatives In Detroit

1-15-2008

The American Le Mans Series reaffirmed its position as motorsports' global leader in alternative fuels today by announcing that it is partnering with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy and SAE International to incorporate "green racing" principles into its 2008 racing season. The American Le Mans Series will be the first motorsports series to meet the criteria for green racing being developed by these groups.

The new "Green Racing Challenge" will take place at the 1,000 mile/10 hour Petit Le Mans on October 4th at Road Atlanta.

Default Did Porsche Up the Ante?

Seeing Penske qualify 1-2-3 for Porsche is nice. One has to wonder though with the Acura's showing so much speed lately and topping those RS Spyders speed easily, did Porsche let loose something that is giving them a bump here?

I don't know all the specifics but have heard wind of some engine developments, those cool wheels.

Anybody know what the scoop is?

Penske's RS Spyders got the new direct fuel injection V-8 at Mid-Ohio while Dyson got them later.

Didn't realize that the French were coming over with their Peugeot.......

I thought BMW was to unveil the M3 (GT2) at this race............where are they????

Hilarious............Corvette vs. Corvette..............why doesn't GM/Chevy/Corvette racing either build a prototype (not a Caddy) LMP1 or 2 or recraft the Corvette to compete in GT2??? Seriously.........racing against yourself.........race after race...........and then to lose to ProDrive/Aston Martin racing when they rolled out the AM for its only race of the season at Le Mans???

BMW announced plans to race in 2009 with Rahal and the new M3.

Bell Motorsports isn't a partner of Aston Martin Racing and has had custom parts built for their machine. That is why the car wasn't there at Long Beach, Utah, and Mid-Ohio due to crashes at St. Pete and Lime Rock. I don't know why they aren't racing at Petit Le Mans. They are on the entry list for round 11 at Laguna Seca.

Radio Le Mans is awesome - when it works! This is the first race I haven't been able to get it. I wonder what is wrong. Are you running it in any special player? What's the link to the actual stream?

EDIT: never mind, I finally got it working off of Speed's site (was trying off Radio Le Mans' site).
