Default New iPhone "track day" software

Not sure if this is out yet, or if anyone's had a chance to try it. Could be the best reason to buy an iphone.

Track Day is an all-in-one tool for measuring your vehicles performance at the track. Using track day you can measure your vehicles acceleration times, record lap times automatically, and display real time cornering, acceleration and braking g-force information.

No details on their website about whether it will draw track maps.

You're not the only one I knew who was planning on writing a similar program for the iPhone...

Yeah, once you see the accelerometer API and the GPS stuff it's pretty obvious an idea, kudos to the guys who went ahead and did it.

Aparently there are a few apps out there. There was a note on our PCA chapter's website last week.

I downloaded the developers kit but I suspect I'll buy one of the apps rather than writing my own.

I was planning to write one. I was curious what people would be willing to pay for such software.

I would assume you would need to offer the features here - http://www.maxqdata.com/ except to run on an IPhone instead of a PDA..

OK, here's something similar but even a little cooler because it also logs RPM & Throttle position. I kid you not.

RaceChrono is a data logger application for the Nokia S60 range of smart phones, and its very impressive! More details at RaceChrono
It supports OBDII data for RPM and Throttle Position using a very neat OBDII Bluetooth adaptor
It also exports csv data files suitable for TrackVision.

The RaceChrono version you need is V1.01 beta or later, which contains the TrackVision support code. A non-beta general relase of RaceChrono with this feature is planned for around November - December.

Here's a sample video using RaceChrono data in TrackVision

While its well short of full house MoTeC setup, its a very cool solution for track day guys who just want to produce some nice documented video. There's a small analytics package that runs on the phone too! OK, it doesn't quite have the cachet of an iPhone app, but the OBDII function really makes a difference.
BTW, RaceChrono is currently available for free. The OBDKey is around $160.

It appears from the reviews on iTunes, that Track Day may run second to Dynolicious.

Anyone tried Dynolicious?
