I have a spare in the truck. I have been taking to the track with me for years. Luckly I never needed it. However I would hate to tow 12 hrs only to have to come back since I left the spare at home. It takes only a couple hours to swap and consider arriving friday morning and busting something in the first session. If I have the spare I replace it and be running again in the afternoon. Maybe miss 1-2 sessions.

If I had an enclosed trailer, I haul both a spare trans and engine with me

The only issue with a spare motor is I would need to bring the engine hoist too. That is where I draw the line.

He was. Then I took him for a ride in my M3 at TWS one time.

Poor guy...they say he'll begin eating solid foods again by March.

Good luck!
