Default Petit LeMans at RoadAtlanta - Camping

The 11th annual Petit LeMans comes to RA in a month. I have attended the last 9. I have taken my two boys since they were 3 and 7. Now may oldest is 17. I would like to step up the experience and camp out at RA for the 3 days. Either good old Canvas tent or fancy (rental) motorhome. It will be the three of us and two 20+ year-old nephews, 5-6 people. Anyone with experience doing this? How do you get a prime spot? I have the advantage of living 20 minutes away. Any advice?

Rent a motorhome and get a reserved motorhome spot at either 10a,b or T6/7.

That many people / living 20 mins away? I'd be going home to shower/sleep and just setup a big ez-up for shade in the day LOL. Although the rental motorhome does have appeal.

Yeah, it makes more sense to go home nights. But we do that every year. There is nothing like waking up to the sound of race cars at early practice and the smell of racing fuel.

Now how do I get the choice RV spots?

Looks like there's no reserved spots this year: http://www.roadatlanta.com/ev_petit_tix.lasso Since you're 20 minutes away you should just park the rv on monday morning in the parking lot and take it in on thursday.

I'll do my camping at the Marriott in Duluth.

Have fun, and remember, it's against the law to bring adult beverages into the track...

That law's never been broken...
