Default Dr Jupeman's Vinyl Magic

This is something of an homage to Charlie's exceptional skills as a designer and an artisan. The new, improved #11 plan included a vinyl treatment that carried my TrackVision brand. After talking to two 'pro' shops and spending many frustrating hours trying with them, the best they produced was some generic 'cup car' swirly stripes with the name TrackVision slapped on top. Lets not even talk about their pricing. In fairness, they are more tuned to doing full or partial vinyl wraps for pro teams with massive budgets.

I sent Charlie the same brief, and he came back with a terrific concept that really suited the car and looked like a winner. The final design was very little changed from his original concept, and looks terrific. It's drawing lots of nice comments in the paddock, so here's a few pics to show you what a talented fellow Charlie really is! I have to say it was a real pleasure working with a guy who is an utter perfectionist, and who has a strong sense of the Porsche aesthetic. Is was a great experience. Thanks, Charlie!

[Note to the nit pickers: Yes, the ride height is much too high in these pics. I'd done a primary alignment and corner balance, but did not have time to reset the ride height and rake before VIR. Its all OK now. An yes, the rocker trims are missing. They will be on before the Potomac Club Race at SP in October.]

One reason that the car looks to be a little" high"(regardless of the actual suspension setting) is that the graphic incorporated dark colors along the lower rockers, and wheel well areas. This "fools the eye" in giving it a higher actual appearance. This can also be seen on the ALMS Corvette's new graphics where they made the rocker completely black (Looks like there is not even a rocker / side skirt there at all). I do like the different shades of blue that were used on your car.

That may be, but it was almost 3/4" too high in the rear, and had far too much rake. All fixed now. The blues we used were from theTrackVision logo, and they really look good on the car.

You do need to realize that Food Angel (Katie) is the brains behind the graphics operation!

Having been a customer for a couple of car graphics jobs, along with vinyl work for my business, I am not surprised by the excellent work done by Dr. J (and FA).

I will not dispute any of these statements.

Tony received the full Food Angel treatment when he was here. I'm sure it didn't help his laptimes.

Yep. None of the stories do justice to Katie's hospitality.
Rebecca [my 21 yo] and I spent a solid 12 hours in Charlie's garage, and Katie not only made us feel very welcome, but rolled out a delicious lunch WITH the famous FA sugar cookies, and a terrific pizza for dinner. Its not hard to imagine a Food Angel franchise. I'd be a major customer :-)

Graphics are nice.

Thread title sounds.....suspiciously like a double entendre.

Threw that in for the few truly twisted minds that can decode the subtext.
