Great PCA event at Road Atlanta this past weekend
I attended a great event at Road Atlanta this past weekend put on by the Peachstate PCA. Everything at the event was ran really well with run groups starting on time throughout the day even with some small mishaps happening. There was a lot of track time for the group 4 and 5 guys. Everyone on the track was courteous and seemed to not mind the slow straightaway speeds of my 180K mile BMW 325.
Most of the weekend was spent coaching a guy, Chris Lewis, in the car. He has a lot faster club race car (E46 M3 with about 400HP) sitting at home in his garage but we used the BMW so we could work on momentum in the turns. I don't think we held up too many cars in the turns but we definitely were a lot slower on the straights. Chris improved his times at Road Atlanta in the car by 3 seconds from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon and was able to turn the improved lap times repeatedly on Sunday.
Thank you to the Peachstate Chapter for a great weekend!

It was a great weekend and the low temps made it even better. I'd never driven the track before and I am hooked! The Glen is still #1 for me but RA is a very close second, if not "1b" :-). Now that I am less than an hour away I hope to be spending a lot of time there...which help me to be less of a ***** on the back straight! Boy-o'-boy it's hard to get used to accelerating downhill into 10a... LOTS of fun though. Sorta like cresting the hill on the back straight at VIR with your foot on the floor; gotta trust the corner workers and your fellow drivers. Great event.

Yes it was a great wknd. Reasonably comfortable weather. Cool for August.
BIG kudos to Peachstate for a superb event. Not one car bent all wknd at RA is very good.
Hi Rick. We met on grid waiting for the oil clean up. Only 'event' all wknd.

Does anybody know if there are any pictures posted online from the weekend? I saw several people taking pictures from the sidelines but I didn't get a chance to go talk to any of them.

Colour Tech took the event photos. They are from FL. If you want your car check with them.

Great Weekend Peachstate! We had a fine time. I need to especially thank Sarah Dawson for her pointers on driving the GT3 at Road Atlanta. She made my weekend a blast. I had so much fun trying out her tips, my lap times dropped 8 secs.( I'm Group 3 level). Started to pick up some subtleties of the car on that track.https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif
Here are some picks from the charity tour, and one of Sarah's really cool GT3.

I had a blast this weekend too at RA. Had a good student who advanced from Group 1 to Group 2. He did very well and I think he learned a lot (at least he said he did and his track performance showed it). I was in Group 4 and was the black 993 with number 95.
