Kojote Motorsports - AWESOME!!!
If you ever have the opportunity to drive a Kojote event, I highly recommend it, it is probably the best non racing event a racer can go to and is wonderful for testing and race preparation. Kojote is run by racers, not a club, and they understand the needs of people with competition licenses. I attended their Watkins Glen event this week and found it very productive for the testing I was doing.
They have simple rules, there is only one passing zone, it begins at the Start line and ends at the Finish line. There are only two sessions, Morning and Afternoon. There seems to be only one rule, "don't be stupid!" I can't think of a time where I could run race pace laps at a "Driver's Education" event. It was weird passing people in the esses, late brake passing another "racer" as we were running together. I kept waiting for the black flag for "agressive driving" like you might find at a PCA "Open track" event, but no.
I know some of the people here will cringe at the lack of rules and they might expect complete mayhem, but sorry, no. I don't even think there was a single car incident over the two days and I felt very safe out there as everyone was using their heads, both passing and being passed. There was a huge disparity of speeds, from a spec Miata to a Creation ALMS car with a Judd v10 engine to a Ferrari 333sp, the latter two hitting over 200mph. NO ISSUES.
Anyway, I highly recommend checking them out as it is sometimes hard to find appropriate testing events that are worthwhile (ie allowing you to run race pace laps).

Why can't they bring that to VIR?
Or better yet Charlotte Motor Speedway... Running there without a bunch of trigger happy, black flag waving, SCCA corner workers sure would be nice!

Were they really hitting 200? Damn. usually the guys running those cars short shift and hesitate to rev it out. I think I spoke with those guys about the 333sp (we run some challenge cars along side of them) at limerock last weekend, I think they just got it.
Do they only run at the glen?

Glad you enjoyed the event Geoffrey. Just a reminder, Kojote events are for drivers in Black run groups or higher. You don't need to be a racer or have a race lic. Anyone interested in running in a truly advance and open event might want to consider Kojote's Oct 1-2 event.

I agree, an awesome event, and thanks to all involved including my fellow drivers who refrained from running my Mini Cooper over! Close to four hours of track time in one day.....
Can't wait for October....

I know the Jagermeister #3 962 did not show. My buddy Mike owns it and it's awaiting a new piston. Should be there in October.
