Sorry, the weight of the HANS (or HANS light) seems to be a small percentage of the force applied by properly tightened harnesses.
In this instance, I don't believe it's the weight, I believe it is the fit/geometry o the HANS (and harness/seat slots) combined with the padding (air bladders, HANS gel or just foam padding).
The $200 is a non issue. I'm just trying to understand the difference between HANS weight and fit.

It ain't a pound, hoss. It's like 4 ounces, IIRC. I defy you to discern 4 ounces when harnessed in.

Hey, If you guys dont care about the extra weight or whatever, then dont bother, but if your going to spend the money ANYWAY, why not just go the whole way?
And the literature says the cf hans is a full lb lighter than the "sport" model fwiw. The decision is yours obviously.

I am not suggesting folks should not have freedom of choice. I am merely suggesting that the weight difference is inconsequential when you are wearing a helmet & strapped in.

1. DE groups are as fast or faster then alot of race groups
2. You need one in 09 anyways and they dont expire
3. I have seen many single car accidents in DE as well as race.
4. Why would you not have the best in your Porsche?

You will not even know it is around your neck as VR says after a minute or so. If it makes your neck sore the next day, then work out now and then and put down the tv remote. I actually think it is more comfortable with the Hans on than having your belts cut into your suit/ neckline. BTW your movement is only affected in the paddock or if your Drifting.

My assertion about the weight was more about how it felt on me. It is bulkier and I found it less comfortable than my pro.
I bought mine before there were 3. Curiosity drove me to trying it on.

Thanks for the confirmation- I knew it was time.
Is anyone using the sliding tether system shown here:
http://www.stand21.fr/hans/hans-2.html
Sport model with the sliding tether looks good. The guys at Stand21 can properly install it for me. Stand21's stuff is fxxg expensive (thank you week dollar) but its primo and you don't need to think about upgrading in the near future so you only pay once if you know what I mean.
I'll talk to them.

I have the sliding tether system I think it is called the vision system. It is great. Your side to side mobility is good considering your head is essentially anchored from lunging forward. Discovery Parts in GA will let you try on a few to see what is best.. No Affil.
