This also helps cooling since it will keep all your rad fins straight ;>

Economy is definitely not helping this thread or Spec series.

Some more details of Viking's 996 build:

TxSpeed / AWE Tuning Porsche: Successful Debut

The debut of the TxSpeed / AWE Tuning Porsche was a resounding success on August 2-3, 2008. Driver, Jay Matus, competed at the NASA Texas Lonestar Cup, Round 5 on the 2.9 clockwise course of Texas World Speedway.

The team ended the weekend with an impressive record:
· Qualified Pole Position in GTS3 for all four (4) races
· Set a Lap Record for Qualifying time in GTS3: 1:52.568
· Earned First (1st) Place in all Four Races

When the weekend started, the race group had eighteen (18) competitors, with ten (10) being in German Touring Series and five (5) competing in GTS3. It was a sunny, hot, humid weekend with temperatures ranging from 102 to 109 degrees - the type of weather that will test the failure point of the parts on race cars and the stamina of the drivers. Matus prevailed through the challenge of extreme temperatures and a recently completed race car build to end the weekend as "last man standing" in GTS3 as none of the other GTS drivers made it to the final race of the weekend.

NEXT - The team has its sights on the NASA National Championships occurring September 11-14, 2008 at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course where there will be a field of nearly fifty (50) GTS cars with approximately fifteen (15) of those competing in GTS3. We are looking forward to spirited competition and a battle to the podium.

We have posted pictures for you to view. We will soon set-up a profile on Streetfire.net for TxSpeed where we will post pictures and video.

FYI, upon further review... we're raising the car, probably about an inch. It just is too low as it sits right now, and I'd like to get through the T1 transition with the front of the car pointed forward...

Can a 996 really run in GTS 3 with NASA? Seems like you'd have to add a lot of ballast.

This is why I have to leave the AC in my car. Otherwise the wiring will melt from all the hot air from coming from VR.
