He needs to go get some seat time in some carts and see if he can develop ANY kind of butt feel for driving a car. It's weird to think that someone would spend the time and money to do a track day and have so little focus on driving. If he was focusing and still did that - other sports beckon.

Too bad this organization doesn't have them.

Pffft...I'm not a very good driver, but some of those drivers with that group need to revisit the basics. I saw 4 or 5 offs (four wheels) on the second lap!

I came in to T1 and there was a car off to the outside...proceed to T3 and there's another car off. Between T3 and T4, there was yet another car parked on the crossover. One driver in particular should have been black flagged and kicked off the track...

That guy was an IDIOT! What a FOOL! They should have pulled him off the track for the first two of those screw ups and then put an instructor in the car with him after that. If he then proceeded to have another one, SEND HIM HOME! The guy is clearly incompetent at this stage of his HPDE career and should not be allowed to run by himself.

He got SO LUCKY in T7! I have seen some real damage to cars there!

BINGO!!! I don't think you could get an instructor to stay in the car for more than a lap or two.

I think he would be much worse in a kart....and I wouldn't want to have him on the track with anyone that I know.

I like the mental journey I took with this video. From "at least he admits his mistakes" to "I glad to he's not dead" to "why's this fool even on a track".

I'm no genius but...I forgot to brake? Wow!

Chris - At our last DE one of our instructors told us of his last student. On the Saturday the student did great. Then the first session Sunday - he was all over the place. The instructor asked him what happened to the guy he was with yesterday - and then the truth came out. His "friend" suggested he do a few things different -- and he would rather listen to the other "novice" then the seasoned instructor. Go figure... egos anyone?

Also, we've invited members of the S2000 Club to join our DEs. We have found that they don't have the same basic training that a green from PCA or a 1 from BMW have.

That driver is a long long way from needing an advanced instructor. It would be a waste of an advanced instructor's time. But he sure needs help. Any PCA instructor would be good.

I tell ya - clubs that run events like that, and allow folks to drive like that had better get their act together, or all DE programs will be in jeopardy in short order...
