yes, i have been with the RTR crew for a looong time! the first DE i ever attended was with them at Summit Point, back in '94, in a Miata. that was all she wrote; i was hooked (line, and sinker! lol!). that clip was me driving my 1995 Honda Civic hatchback; drivetrain is all stock honda, with some serious bolt-ons and a home-brew tuneup! suspension is DMS coilovers. brakes are my own design (Acura Legend calipers and Accord rotors up front, stock drums in back). i've owned that car since it was almost new, and it was my combination daily driver/racer til about 5 years ago. for a long time, i raced it (starting in 1999, with NASA and EMRA) and daily drove it to work, too. i've since matured a bit, and now trailer it! i've done most all the work myself; it's mostly a 'kludge', but it works fairly well, especially on the shorter tracks (even though i love the Glen the best; my Honda isn't really cut out too well for that track. it's better at Summit, or Shenandoah, or Mid Ohio).
thank you very much for the compliment on my driving; it is very much appreciated! when i coach, i am almost a bit 'preachy' about letting the car have it's head and run; trying to keep steering inputs to the minumum; keeping your hands as quiet as possible, and allowing the front wheels to be as straight as possible at all times ('unwind, unwind, unwind the wheel! use all the track!'). i've owned and driven all sorts of cars (i currently have an EVO, a Super Seven, my Civic, and a Probe in my track stable), but i more often than not am racing a FWD car; with the FWD, you must preserve and protect your front tires; they do all the work, and it is so easy to overwork them with too much steering, or abrupt braking/throttle inputs. i guess it's what i've learned over the years which works for me, and it's what i teach!
i'll look forward to seeing you up at the Glen -- drop in and say 'hi'; i'll be in the paddock working with george; he drives a cobalt blue 997 GT3 (a really beautiful machine, x1000!).

I hear Gary runs 2:10's in the right ambient temperatures so I doubt I can keep up with him but you, Poalo, you just better get your arm out when you see a red dot in your mirror

I will use my left arm out the window to point out to you which direction the next turn is.....
It should be a blast...... just watch a few Glen videos and you should be all set......
BTW, is your partner in crime, Goodhands, coming?

Alan posted this in another thread, but I believe it belongs here:
PMs to Alan Herod, PCAP DE Chair
PM me if I left anyone hanging -- Actually it will really work better if you email questions directly to me at DEChair@pcapotomac.org.

Sorry I missed that - too busy keeping track of who needed to be registered and accepted!
Anyone can request a specific instructor by emailing chiefinstructor@pcapotomac.org with a cc to DEChair@pcapotomac.org
