Default 997 gt3 oil change ?

little help please ist time i'm going to do this on a gt3.drain oil from the sump=one bolt to remove to drain the oil is their a 2nd bolt to be removed to drain the oil from the motor? if so where is it compaired to where the sump drain bolt is?and is their any other issiues i should be aware of .thanks

I have the 996 GT3, but IIRC it's basically the same and it does have a 2nd drain plug bolt. Use a large pan because of the total amount of oil (10qts.) between the two.

Go to www.renntech.org and do a search for DIY Manintenance. I'd give you the part numbers you need, but mine are all 996 parts.

Do you have the part that is used to take the oil filter off?

thanks ,yes i bought the oil filter wrench oil and filter all i have to do now is figure out which is the 2nd drain bolt. i'm going outside to take a peek its all jacked up ready to take apart.i'm going to the auto parts store now and get a large drain pan.than refill all the oil into the oil fill tube?

I have a spare oil filter wrench (new) and two filters left over from my 05 997S if anyone needs them..

thing i noticted in the filter few peices of something plastic any ideas?

one plug in on the sump, right inside of the rear right tire area.

the other plug is on the drive's side of the engine canse. hard to miss.

the two plugs are of different size. one is 15mm the other is 19mm. sorry i cannot remember which size is which plug.
