Steve's Dakota Grill in Mansfield for steaks. Rocky's in the square in downtown Mansfield is good and the waitresses are easy on the eyes Sweeny's Too on Rt 42 has good ribs. The Mexican place in Lexington is good for lunch. Have fun!

All the above are decent and good for what we are there for. There's also that Dutch restaurant right by the HQ's. No fine dining anywhere, though.

Best food I've had plus ambiance was one where the dinner was set up by Tracquest. This was at a home dining called White Horse or White something just off the track. Big juicy steaks, good salads and sides, lots of beer and wine brought in by the organizers, and the ambiance of everybody there being fellow track junkies with lots of bench racing going on.

I wish Rocky paid as much attention to the kitchen as he does to choosing his waitresses. The food would be great!

Buck's is a Mid-Ohio tradition near downtown Lexington.

Buck's is the closest to the track. Good burger, wing and beer joint. Lots of track guys.
Mike's Pizza in Lexington is good. Bar type atmoshpere
KC's BBQ out towards I71, near the Comfort Inn, is a good place for a steak or ribs.
Mexican place in Lexington, close to Buck's, is always a winner too.

We're not talking 5 star in Lexington.

There is some fine dining there, but unfortunately it has been so long I don't remember the name of the place. Downtown Mansfield - small continental restaurant with great food and pretty good wine selection too. I bet if you find some of the Mid Ohio School instructors, they can point you there.

I also agree on the Tracquest dinners - great steaks there, but they are for private events.

There are a bunch of chain restaurants in Lexington by the Mall - Outback, Fridays, etc. There is also a Roadhouse which has pretty good steaks for a chain and has a nice patio. Take a right out of Mid-Ohio and I believe it is about 5 miles away - just ask someone there and they can confirm.

Take a right AND then a right at the first intersection. It will be on the right after about 5 miles indeed!

Sparks,

How do you get to the Road House?

I think I was there about 5 years ago during an event weekend. I remembered that they only took cash and it was out in the middle of nowhere. If it is te place I'm thinking it is up an exit or two from Rte 97 (Where the Ramada and Cimfort Inn are located) and on the East side of I71. I would like to go there again.

Thanks,

Noel

noel, will give it my best shot, here goes-----
continue on the main road that you would normally take to get into the track.
proceed for a mile or so untill you get to a flashing light.
make right.
go uo the hill, down the hill, up the hill, down the hill.
anyway, the road house is on right side a few miles from your turn.
sorry i can't help you with street names as i am usually riding shotgun when we go.

I think you're talking about Brant's Bistro....also, Friday's is no longer. The Lexington-Springmill area near the mall has every chain you could imagine; Outback, Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday's, Cheddar's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden and on and on.
