the "slower" run group is blue which is advanced intermediate. i think the only difference between the other two more experienced groups is whether or not you are an instructor. all the scheduling is on the PDA website. you need to go to the main calendar of events and then click on the area under april 19th for lime rock park.

Thanks for posting the schedule. I will be at the event. This is my first PDA event. Since the registration does not start until 10am I will sleep in for an extra few hours.

I've run PDA events since 1991 (remember Bridgehampton?) and the new format is not so bad. I took a buddy to his first DE at LRP last weekend (4/12) and now he's hooked.
It was my first track day with the 993, so I figured I could deal with the white run group until I became more familiar with its handling characteristics and not get in anyone's way.
Once I figured out that 1 and not 9, is firmer on the PSS9s, the diving turn's bumpy apex became much less stressful. In fact, I was surprised how well balanced the 993 was on track and how easy it was to control at the limit, even when I came up on a twin turbo Z that had just blown its antifreeze all over the track just before the uphill.
Anyway, at the end of the day I had nearly 100 miles on track - not bad for $270.
And I LOVED the 993 on track - lots of fun.

It has the potential to be the greatest of events. First run group is pass-signal passing only, from then on it was open passing... anywhere. In essense it is multi-class racing with no classes or winners/losers. Problem is the great disparity in who PDA/NASA lets into their upper run groups. I came up on cars like they were stalled, including an Audi WAGON! Not only was he slow, but he had no track awareness and came inches from taking the tail of a 996 that finally passed him (in disgust I suppose) w/o a pass signal. I was diving into the left hander to get by a Red 996 Turbo with something like "EVO 750" decals (anyone familiar?) that belongs in the green PCA run group and I heard a loud BANG! My car went into a really cool slide and ended up on the far right side, still on asphalt, and I continued on. Osama was behind me and must have thought I was nuts cause I was waving him by but it was driving really wonky. Pitted in and saw I snapped a rear sway bar pinch bolt so my day was done.. I *think* I would have enjoyed myself more by simply lining up in front for the next run...

I should add, in fairness to NASA/PDA, that there were a lot of great people there too. Paul from Paddock Racing for one stands out, who went out of his way to meet me and introduce me around. There was a full day of track time shoved into 4 hours so the price wasn't crazy either. You just have to be aware that there may be a Lexus SUV out there somewhere in front of you...

gary,
sorry to hear about your car trouble. would have been nice to get to play with you. hopefully next time. i didn't think it was nuts at all. it's a d-stock car at lrp.
good luck with the club race.
