I already have one, called H Stock.

Bill, look forward to meeting you out on the track. I think H will be very popular very soon. There were 9 cars at the Road Atlanta race, and a couple more under construction in addition to yours

I considered running a spec girlster for about 5 seconds, which is about how much faster my car is at road atlanta.

I'd be up for a 996 spec. Knock 300 - 400 Lbs. out of it like the Boxster + run something other then Hoosiers so you aren't buying over-priced tires every weekend and it would be a fun class. Not interested in another letter car though. Too easy for folks to cheat & bring in ringer cars. I loved the spec aspects of the 996 cup. I had three great years of racing in that car but the costs just kept climbing. When are you guys going to shoot for launching the 996 Spec series?

Bill, same as all the PCA stock classes really, stock engine, tranny, limited aero options.

One of the big differences is not limiting the suspension mods like most of the spec classes do. I have moton clubsports and various GT3 suspension parts that specs usually outlaw. PCA requires the interior, not sure about the bxr, but 944cup lets you strip it. This can be a big difference in weight.

I saw the other post of building phase one on a saturday, and it did look like fun!. I have just always wanted to race 911's, so I stuck with it when changing.

Jay, I know what you mean about cheater cars, I raced against a few of them in my SC. Keep in mind the guys building spec racers today are doing it because they like to work on them and it is new. In a couple of years, there will be cheaters there too. There is no way to stop it in any level of racing, but the same tricks will work in bsr as in Stock H.

I do like the tire idea! I didn't realise that going from my 16's to 18's would cost an extra 400 a set.

Not boxster, spec 911. Two flavors: GTS for 3.2 and smaller with a bunch of rules and GTL which has relatively few rules to limit hp (3.6 or smaller with stock intake and 1 5/8" headers - about 300 hp), limit grip (spec tires - goodyear slicks R420 compound 23.5x10.5x16 and 25x13x16) no 993 multilink suspension allowed, and limit weight (2300 lbs as you come off the track at the end of the race, including the driver). A few others, but not much. Basically anything else is legal but there isn't too much point as the critical factors are specified. The GTL cars are about on par with 996 cups but are less money to maintain.

Sean. Crate motor: $4k. Oil change: $50.00. Build cost: $35k. Modern technology, geometry and suspension.

Handling: Priceless.

They aren't 911s but there's a lot to like.

Randy,
Yeah, that's what attracted me. I can drive the crap out of it & not worry about it. I'm in SHOCK @ how cheap it is since I have been running the cup the last few years! We burned about $ 200.00 worth of tires & $ 150.00 in gas in 3 days @ TWS last month. CRAZY! I think my whole weekend inc. getting there, hotel, entry, food & consumables was around around $ 1,200.00!

PS: I'm a 911 guy so I do still miss that rear weight bias & the stuff you can get them to do. That's all I had ever driven until the Box.

Ray,
Your 2000 won't qualify for the class anyway. Just by a $10k donor '97-'99 & start chopping

PS: Then you can change your tag line to "Happiness is THREE Porsches!"
