Let's keep Max's crap out of this thread please.

I predict Kimi will win. I can't figure out Hamilton. He does well out in front but seems to use up tires when fighting so with this track being low on mechanical grip and using softer tires should affect Hamilton the most.

I find it impossible to think that Massa won't finish. That would definately sideline him so expect him to drive very conservatively.

Quick Nick has to show his speed this week to keep ahead of Kubica.

This race is shaping up nicely.

BTW, I haven't heard Alonso whinning this year at all so let's give him some credit.

Noel, don't be so sure Bahrain will be a dry race. I was there last year over race weekend and if I remember correctly there were violent thunderstorms on Wed, Thurs, Fri and Saturday. I went to a press event on Friday night at the circuit and the wind/ rain was so extreme that the event was cancelled and the tented accomodation evacuated. The organisers feared that the temporary buildings might be blown away. Sunday was very windy but the rain didn't appear and from the TV broadcast you wouldn't have been aware how wild the weather had recently been. Even on race day despite the sunshine and 40C heat there was still standing water in the pedestrian underpasses!

Expect Kimi to have at least 4 laps on Hamilton though and that should make enough of a difference. The real race race will be between Massa and Hamilton because Massa needs to get pole and hold up Hamilton in the race.

The only thing that was shown last race was that McClaren need to get their cool down laps in order and figure out what happened with the brake situtation and 18 second pit stop.

I wonder if they moved Heikki's pit button?

I agree with your assessment but have to add tire wear and brake balance for Hamilton. Clearly he has problems with balancing the braking on his car that his teammate doesn't. That would explain the difficulty getting the nut off the right front and the 18 second pit stop. Can't blame the crew for that (at least so far since nothing has been released about a failure). If it were a chassis problem, Heiki would have fallen prey to the same issue. Maybe Hamilton just had an off day.

Hamilton race pace was faster than Heiki , he fell behind due to the botched pitstop.

That has little to do with what my point was.

No need to move that, just program it the way other teams have it (pit limiter won't work when in higher gears or speed) and there won't be any problems.

Yeah, I was at a Porsche dealer event last night and Sasha Massen talked about that. The LMP2 Penske Spyder will not go into the pit speed limiter unless you are in 1st gear. You would think a high tech F1 team would have had that figured out years ago huh?

The Bahrain Grand Prix Preview - a BMW Sauber breakthrough?

BMW Sauber do not want to commit themselves to any hierarchical order at the moment, to quote technical director ***** Rampf, but there is absolutely no doubt that they head into this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix at Sakhir determined to keep up their good work and to do everything that they can to challenge the dominance of Ferrari and McLaren.
