I thought I'd start this thread early as it's a week out and the Malaysian GP talk is dying down.

Don't want to sound like a homer, but I'm predicting the Ferrari 1-2 (Massa over Kimi) that didn't come in Malaysia, is coming to Bahrain! McLaren fights back coming in 3-4 (Hamilton over Heikki), BMW solid as usual, Williams bounces back from horrible time at the last race and Trulli's Toyota finishes in the points. Reasons:

1. Tilke track. Ferrari does well at this traditional type of circuit.

2. Exclusive winter testing. The only 2 teams to test at Bahrain in the off season were Ferrari and Toyota. The knowledge they picked up will pay off for this race as compared to their competitors.

3. History.
a. Ferrari has always gone well at this track since it's inception a few years back.
b. Massa has shown a history of coming back strong after disasterous races when his back has been against the wall. The unfortunate thing is that he is inconsistant.

4. Tires: Bahrain surface is usually lacking in grip levels due to sand blowing across the surface. Bridgestone has announced that they will be bringing an even softer compound than they did last year (also plays into reason #2 as their data points for cars without T/C and engine braking were gathered from winter testing from Ferrari and Toyota). The McLarens have shown to be a little harder on their tires than last year which could be a problem on longer stints.

I wonder how much of this is due to the lack of traction control? Personally, I can't wait until the first fully wet race, as I'm curious how the boys will do with the slick conditions and no traction control. Unfortunatly, there will not be a wet race next weekend, but the sand could make things a bit slick.
I predict another Kimi win.

Extremely doubt we'll see rain in the desert. Rain showers were predicted during the entire weekend in Malaysia, but we'll have to wait for a European race to see that. Hopefully in Spain!!

Ferrari should win. I hope BMW (Kubica) will be in the top 3 but it won't be easy with McLs. Hamilton is under pressure and he is not good at it. Massa as well then he can cause some mistakes.
I agree, gained experience from testing days will pay off.

FYI, now they'll have the new "120 % rule" for the Q3.

I'm sure Ferrari will be strong as well as Mc, especially if they bring in the new aero parts. Hopefully BMW, Toyota, Williams & others do well too. I predict Toytoa will be chasing BMWs of not even better than them.

Alonso's too worried about what contract he'll sign next year to be worried about where he finishes this year.

I swear A. Wayne has a voodoo doll of Massa and has been tweaking it during parts of the race to throw Felipe off track so Alonso has a chance at his seat next year.
