A drag race in a cup car on the street says it all.

But at least they did us the privelege of having it blocked off. But seems like more trouble than it was worth setting up the whole thing.

oh what a buncha naysayers............

someone who doesnt like a nice smokey Do-Nut.... and a fun drag race... is like a person who wont sit down and have a ice cold beer..... or eat a nice peice of steak.... some of the plesent lil things of life... : )

F-L is on the streets of NYC.. to the concrete of sebring to the banks at homestead.. and thats just within a couple weeks of each other.... they are covering the whole spectrum of autosports...

i know these guys.... and they like to have fun..... and theres nuthing wrong with that.....

i woulda moved the break bias all the way to the front on the cup car and smoked the rear tires till they popped......

I think some of you guys missed the point. Grand Am and the NY Auto Show invited us to participate. Last year they did this with a Rolex DP car and a GT car. Since a DP was not available this year, we substituted the GTR. The spectators loved it. The Show organizers loved it. Our sponsors loved it. And Bryce Miller signed close to 5000 hero cards and took a whole lot of photos with both young and old show attendees. We certainly developed some new fans for the sport and spread good will in a city that is not known for being very car friendly. The local NYC TV stations covered the event live as well.

Besides that, we had fun doing it. When was the last time you had a chance to cut loose in the middle of Manhattan with state troopers and NYC cops standing on the side? The best part was when I got pulled over in the Cup car by a female NYC police officer who wanted to know where the license plate was. It's all good.

In the spirit of the Road Atlanta roll call/ smack talk time thread:

Back to NYC for a sec – I would be remiss if I did not thank Emil and his incredibly talented crew who spent hours in the cold setting up cameras and getting great footage. And then went back to the studio to pull together an awesome edit for everyone's enjoyment. We were supposed to do a couple more runs but the cops freaked and shut us down after only one pass. So they really had limited tape to work with. Thanks also to Matt and JF. Great job guys!

I have no problem with donuts..or a little drag race and I like a good beer with steak.

I just think that from a safety stand point, everyone had their heads up their butts that day...! Look at the people standing behind little metal barriers and those guys ripping around on cold tires...No wonder the cops shut it down..At least someone in the NYPD had some common sense..!

I think the image of Grand Am racing and FL motorsports was lowered to the level of a Honda driving street punk with BIG stainless muffler hanging out the back...

Just my 2 cents..
